Spoilers on tumblr
By now, I’m aware that tumblr is spoiler central. If you search a tag for your favorite show and you’re not up to date on that show, then you’re basically asking for it. But when I search a tag for a different show that went off the air almost 10 years ago I don’t expect to find a f*cking spoiler for a show that’s currently on the air! If we’re not going to warn people about all spoilers can we at least take care of ones like that?
Someone just posted this video from our last Brooklyn show of Jenny Owen Youngs and “special” guest, Brian Fallon, covering “Ring Of Fire.” This is all to remind you that we have another show coming up in June and you should get your tickets. Do we have unannounced people lined up for this one too? Maybe we do and maybe WE DO. And we can all but guarantee it won’t be Brian. Last time, he drank all the Coca-Cola and we’re pretty sure we caught him stealing light bulbs from the bathroom.
How come Brian got a chair? What makes him so special? :P Okay he’s pretty special but still, Jenny deserves a chair too!

There were no sex classes. No friendship classes. No classes on how to navigate a bureaucracy, build an organization, raise money, create a database, buy a house, love a child, spot a scam, talk someone out of suicide, or figure out what was important to me. Not knowing how to do these things is what messes people up in life, not whether they know algebra or can analyze literature.
For Springsteen/Gaslight Anthem fans, the lyric “Some nights I wake up with the sheets soaking wet” is a sort of choose your own adventure. The next line can either be “and a freight train running through the middle of my head” or “it’s a pretty good song, baby, you know the rest.”
